We Are Not Stuck

If you read chapters 6 and 7 of Paul's letter to the church at Rome and stopped there, you might get the feeling that we're, well, stuck: Chapter six talks about sin's power, our slavery to it, and its terrible cost. Chapter seven talks about how God's law reveals our sin and our ongoing struggle with it. Paul writes, "I love God's law with all my heart. But there is another law at work within me that is at war with my mind. This law wins the fight and makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. Oh, what a miserable person I am!" (NLV).
So, we're stuck between a rock and a hard place, right? Check out the Scripture for the day (the first few verses of chapter 8) then join Pastor Chris for this teaching from Romans. A marvelous quote from Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, French philosopher and Jesuit priest, caps off the podcast.
