One mark of true disciples is that they love one another. John's Gospel records that Jesus gave a command-- "love one another"-- and a promise-- "By this everyone will know"-- in teaching us about love. Here's a thought for you: Have you ever considered that love is a sacrament? Or, at least, that love operates sacramentally?
