Ortho-What?

Our look at Paul's letter to the Colossians came to an end with this teaching on the first few verses of Chapter 3-- and a comparison with the first two chapters gave us a chance to talk about orthodoxy and orthopraxy. Ortho-what, you may be asking? Well, the first two chapters of Colossians speak, in large measure, to "right teaching" or "right doctrine" (that's what orthodoxy means)-- the person and work of Jesus, who He is, what He's done. Chapter three, then, turns to "right practice" (and that's what orthopraxy means)-- what we should do, how we should live because of our standing in Christ. Then our teaching time closed with some study on how this passage in Colossians provides an answer to-- a reversal-- to what happened in the Garden of Eden so long ago.
