Christ Is King!

The long season after Pentecost-- and the whole Christian year-- comes to a glorious close with Christ the King Sunday. The Christian Year doesn't end in a quiet decrescendo but rather with a triumphant coda of triumph and praise as we exalt Jesus as King of Kings!

The Scripture for this teaching was a passage from Luke's Gospel, the song of Zechariah, where the once-mute father of John the Baptist sings about the coming Messiah, and also about his own son's role as forerunner. And, along the way, we also somehow managed to work in Beethoven and the Babylonian god Ahuramazda. Sound confusing? You'll just have to listen.
