Several passages of Scripture on this first Sunday of Advent, including a rich section of Matthew's Gospel where Jesus speaks of the end times, led us to talk about watchfulness and anticipation-- and especially led us to ask this question: What does hope look like? Along the way we dove into that famous passage about "two men walking in a field" where "one is taken and the other is left", but the main lesson we learned was not so much about end times-- about the future-- but rather more about being vigilant in the here and now. So, what does hope look like?
