On this first Sunday of Advent, the Epiclesis community continued its tradition of drawing and designing a Chrismon ornament during the teaching time. Each Sunday, we think about “what hope looks like” or “what joy looks like” as we light the different candles of Advent. But the Scripture for this particular day doesn’t look especially hopeful, at least on the surface: Jesus describes the end of all things and how we should be alert and watchful.
