It’s a Brand New Compass Class with Robert Brown.
First Module Starts Sunday, May 4, at 9 AM
C.S. Lewis has described our faith as a journey going “further up and further in” to all that God has in mind for us. So, along the way, as followers of Jesus, we want to conform our lives in every way to His pattern of life and teaching— all while the Holy Spirit empowers our journey and transformation.
This new Compass Class series of modules will be an attempt to go further in the faith by exploring the very language of our faith— both the basic and profound— as we continue the journey from understanding with the mind to believing with the heart.
Our class starts at 9, but come a bit early for coffee/tea and treats. Meeting Room: Enter the building in our usual location. Go to church library in main hallway.
About our teacher: Robert Brown (right) received his Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies and Ancient Languages from Wheaton College, his Master’s degree in Theology from Wheaton Graduate School (with a special emphasis in hermeneutics), and a Masters of Divinity from the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. He was a Presbyterian pastor, serving churches in Wisconsin, Indiana, and Wyoming. He has three adult children, Sarah, Nathan, and Benjamin, and is married to Ruth Joy Shafer Brown.
