Fall Retreat, 2025

Our fall retreat is set for October 17-18, 2025! And we’re back at the beautiful Christ the King Retreat Center in Citrus Heights. Here’s a map of the Center, with a copy of our schedule for the weekend.

Our special retreat guest speaker will be the wonderful Rev. Steve Pearson (see details about Steve below). Meanwhile, watch this space in the coming days for more about the content of the retreat.

Also keep this in mind: This retreat (not an overnight event) is open to the Sacramento Christian community– not just Epiclesis members– so it’s a perfect opportunity to invite friends and co-workers. Childcare is available. (Some people may want to explore enhancing/extending their retreat by a day or so and stay on site. Rooms are available subject to the Center’s schedule and will require an additional fee. Please email Pastor Chris about this possibility).

Schedule: There will be a single session on Friday night (gathering beginning at 7:00, then from 7:30-9 PM), a session on Saturday morning (9 AM), lunch together at the Center, then an afternoon session (concluding at about 4 PM). Rev. Pearson will also teach at Epiclesis on Sunday morning following the retreat. Find a handy map to the Retreat Center here.

Costs? We’ll have more information for you soon. We don’t want cost to keep anyone from coming (and we will have a scholarship or two available).

Our Retreat Leader:

Our (wonderful) speaker will be Rev. Steve Pearson (right). Steve is the pastor at Grace Baptist Church near Ochre River, Manitoba. (Not sure where that is? Think deep, wintery Canada, and then go much, much farther north). Most of his life was spent in ministry in rural Nebraska and South Dakota. He remains a diehard Husker fan. Steve received his BA in Philosophy from Cedarville University and his MA in Philosophy from the University of Nebraska. The most formative study season came at L’Abri in England where he focused on the epistemological problems of Postmodernity. He has been married to Tiffany for 10 years. During his free time, he enjoys reading boring books, hiking, and practicing martial arts on the large Canadian mosquitos.
