Masterful at Posing Questions
Jesus is masterful at posing questions. One of these questions appears in the lectionary readings for this week. To the man who called Jesus, "Good Master," he replies, "Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone" (Mark 10:18).
Adherents of Islam will use Jesus' question-in-reply to claim that Christians are wrong about Jesus being divine. "See," they say. "Right there Jesus himself denies the divinity that you Christians claim for him."
Are the Muslims right? How do we know? What difference does it make?
