The Massacre of Innocence

During Christmastide, the church traditionally focuses on the Massacre of the Innocents, that tragic episode in the end of Herod's life, and the beginning of Jesus' life, when baby boys in Bethlehem were slaughtered. But there is nothing new under the sun. Today, we see the massacre of innocence, as well as innocents, all about us. Why is it good to hold in tension both the stories of the Nativity and the Massacre of the Innocents? Join us for a look at Matthew 2 and a call to prayer for the innocent, and innocence, of our day.
